I don't really have any advice because I haven't taken it yet (I will be taking it this/next year), but just relax and umm... wear your seatbelt? xD

But good luck man, hope all goes well. happy.gif

Road test being your practical driving test....? *Hates American driving system*

Check your mirrors. Loads. It's so easy to overlook.

You're probably talking about something entirely different aren't you? *Yawn*

What state do you live in?

In California, they suck, or atleast the DMV office closest to me does.

Just follow all the rules, even if you had been breaking them while you have your permit,

keep your hands 10 & 2, check your mirrors, and keep a safe following distance and you should be good...

DMV sucks dry.gif

I passed my driving test almost a year ago now and I still avoid parallel parking wherever it's humanly possible.

Study.

As for driver's test I remember I failed mines because the dude told me to park on a hill. So I drive up the hill, pull over to the side sort of, and put it in park and look at him.
He failed me because he wanted me to park, then turn off the car.
Dick.
But ya, using your signal's well, use one foot lol, know how to use power steering correctly, stay good distance from car in front of you, don't be rude, as for more specific directions if needed. You should be good.

Permit test is easy lol.

If you have any problems on a question, skip it and come back. Yes, study before taking it to.

Good luck.

I stopped driving for a few years and I have to go re take the whole test again. I will this summer when it's all nice and that. I never been one for driving or liking it much but the part that made me nervous was the parallel parking. After that the rest was easy as pie smile.gif

I never had to do one, so I can't really offer you more than that. 1we8.gif

blink.gif Do you have a license?

And GarGar. Just relax while driving, 10 and 2, and slow down around the kids... Watch the speedometer though.

If it is a course don't fall for the trick they use around here...
"Take the next possible left" when the next left hand turn is a one way. I've heard of a few people falling for that o.o

Should be easy. Permit is toughest part for everyone I would say. As long as you look calm and know what you are doing, the DMV person will think that you know your stuff so sometime they will let you go back to the office faster. Also ignore what they write on the grading paper, I thought I failed when they keep writing stuff on it when I take the test but it turned out he just writing something else. Well, best of luck smile.gif I passed it with 4 errors and 8 errors on the permit xD (Pass both on first time try without study haha, pure luck)

watch out for unmarked intersections, they always try to get people on those. you just slow a bit, look both ways, then go through.

So do I. It's a nightmare in the camper x.x

But yeah. TALK TO YOUR INSTRUCTOR!
There's nothing worse than driving for forty minutes in absolute silence, especially when the guy is watching you like a hawk.
Make conversation, and thus, crucially, distract him wink.gif

Well when you turn 17 you apply for your provisional license and start having driving lessons.
Then you can book to take your theory test at any time which is a bunch of questions marked out of 35 and you need to get 30. That's immediately followed by Hazard Perception where you watch a load of short video clips with a developing hazard in and you have to click the screen when you spot them. You get more points for the earlier you notice them. That's out of 75 and you need 44.

Once you've passed the theory you can apply to take your practical. You just drive around for a bit and do a couple of manoeuvres and they decide whether any mistakes you make are minor or major. If you get any majors you fail. You're allowed up to 15 minors, any more than that and you fail. Oh, and if you get 3 or more minors for the same thing it's a major so you fail because it shows you have a recurring potentially dangerous habit.

It means some people pass a lot faster than others. I only took 10 lessons where as I know others who took 40-50.

It's 12 Minors now, isn't it?
I got four happy.gif And, obviously, no majors tongue.gif
Took me 34 hours of lessons, but I had a massive break in the middle where I destroyed my arm and therefore couldn't drive...

Has it? Not a clue, I had to look it up on Wikipedia because I couldn't remember.
I only got 3. tongue.gif So nyeh.
Saying that a friend of mine took hers a couple of weeks ago and got 1. >_<
And in all fairness I would have failed if they'd asked for anything but 3 point turn and bay park. I maintain I will never need to reverse around a corner.
