I was just curious as to how many of you use Bit Torrent exclusively for "file transfers" of what we will all assume is legal and non-copyrighted materials.

And if you do use it, do you seed back to a 1.00 ratio?

What is your favourite client?


My Answers:

1. Yes. I seed back to almost 2.00 on most transfers.
2. Azureus 2.0.4

Take the site links off and it's fine since torrents are used for legit reasons too.

Yeah I usually seed at least 1.00 and use uTorrent (or MuTorrent, whatever it likes to be called...).

1. Of course. I have a minimum of at least 1.5 ratio before I remove the files from my application. If a specific file is popular, I just torrent forever; such as photoshop.
2. uTorrent, it's easy to use and loads quickly for me.

I use it to download legal games that support torrent transfers, because it's less of a hassle. and other legal stuff. Illegal = bad.

Uh, I use bit torrent for everything ever.

I seed to 1.0 if I'm on a site like black-cats that monitors it. If I'm downloading from torrentspy or w/e I'll leave it on overnight and turn it off in the morning xD I like Bitlord more than Azureus.

Yeah, that's pants. I used Bitlord for torrentspy/isohunt. Bitlord Pro is rubbish though. The normal one is ace

uTorrent... I like my applications to be small and neat

I just leave it to seed until its heart's content hah.

why do you run Azureus 2.0.4 over 2.5.0.4 or 3.0?

I seed back on all my torrents, and I use Azureus.
The reason I seed back is because I have a very fast internet connection, so helping others out really doesn't effect my online performance.

I run the newest azureus and seed to 1.5

I use Azureus, and then it tells me it's seeding right after the download is done.
So I guess it's on default settings.

heh - I have a server right next to me dedicated to being a torrent server and itunes server Its really cool actually.
I have uTorrent installed with webUI and on my mac I use Transmission thats really fast. but normally I just use the server.

I use Azureus (Not sure which version) and will seed till the ratio is about 1.

0.x or whatever it is at if the download doesn't work or is mislabeled. 1 for crappy quality movies, 1.5 for working decent stuff and 2+ for stuff I like/play often (highest is like 6 on a 4 gb file)

heh actually I ONLY use torrent for legal reasons (such as downloading big patches or online TV shows)

2. BitComet (uTorrent is good too but I usually d/l a little faster with my options in bitcomet, i like the interface, etc better)

i think frostwire is easily the best when i use the bittorent from the main website it goes like 10kbps with frostwire i get 150kpbs

MuTorrent and BitComet. I stop seeding as soon as I download what I need. If I happen to get .1 oh well, if I get 3.0 oh well.
