I bought 500 Mau Codestones to see if I could inflate them but sadly came the the conclusing I need another 7 mill to make a dent in the price. This brings me to ask, is it really actually possible to inflate the price of an item if you have enough money and eventually own almost all of them?

You COULD technically inflate the price of an item if you bought EVERY SINGLE items of that type in the shop wizard. But the amount of neopoints that it would take is ridiculous.

Not a RE item, there are millions upon millions of those given a day.

Personally I think it is achievable, but I cannot assure you that it is in fact possible. My guess would though would be that yes, it is very acheivable. Although there are a lot of Mau Codestones in neopets, but a lot of users do need to use them to train there pets. Anywhoo, good luck trying to inflate the price.

I'm going to be honest with you- Trying to inflate something that is given out like flyers at the state fair is almost as stupid as eating a ton of crap and getting on the Tilt-A-Whirl.

If you want to inflate something- Find an item that is relatively inexpensive and doesn't constantly flow into the market. thumbsup.gif Or retired items, you're guaranteed not to have to worry about those coming into the market. thumbsup.gif

Edit: My damn spell check built into Firefox didn't like the word flyers, I go onto Google and it says it is a word, so I side with google!

If the item was retired, maybe. Although my experience with the winter blechy hat is proving otherwise. The price went from nothing to 5-6k

It's now at around 2k sad.gif

Things have a habit of evening out.

Best items are retired food items. No possible argument there lol.

What pissed me off when I started playing again was seeing the black fuzzles are expensive. I remember like almost 6 years ago when they used to be in the 10np range. Oh how times have changed.

Anyway I figured I can still bank about 300k off of my little Mau Codestone experiment. Not too bad for 2 days.

question: when gourmet food items go retired do they still count for gourmet club points when you eat them?

It's much easier getting a group of people. I remember some forum I was a part of where they tried inflating something however I dotn remember the outcome. For all I know it could have been codex.

But I do vidily remember when I played a lot of neo, a group ofp eople I knew who had a lot of money tried inflating a furniture item and I believe they succeeded.

Yes. Which is why those items are worth exorbitant amounts.

Not enough neopet players/funds and it didn't work out the first time.

And you can't inflate an item that isn't retired. In order for the inflation to work the item has to be fairly limited and serve a purpose

Have about 50mil pure out, a USAB that adds items to safety deposit box and can check/sleep during bans... and hell yes.

So I learned my lesson that it is impossible to inflate a codestone with only 3 mill. HAHA!

What happen to all the black fuzzles?

This wont work, period! Unless you a billionaire in neopoints.
Well, you could buy all the items in shop and then someone thinks its a bug and report to TNT there is something wrong when they search that item. TNT decides to give it a check and see you buy all the stuff, they will ban hammer you. Even if you are legit, they will ban you first and ask later for trying to monopolize the economic.

Are there any NP billionaires? That would be neat, especially if they were legit.

I've been investing in Red Aisha Keyring's for quite a while now. They're retired, and have been steadily rising in price for a while... I bought around 3000 of them when they were 40 np each (When they first retired), and now they're worth 200-250 in np.

Hmm... Need to make some more purchases.

Anyway, I highly suggest investing in those keyrings.

I guess neopets doesnt believe in a free economy, they should stay out of the way if people want to drive the price of a certain item up. If they dont like it they could release more of that item into the market. If the item is released tho I think they would just have to role with the punches and deal with it.
