Do you brush your teeth before, or after breakfast?

I was asking my colleagues this question the other day, and it was pretty divided, with half saying before, and the other saying after.

I personally brush before, because I don't like the fact that the bacteria that have accumulated in my mouth over the night will be going down with my breakfast.

When do you brush, and why?

After!! Brushing my teeth before makes my breakfast have a weird taste to it. In addition, your breath won't smell like your breakfast!

I brush before I go to bed, and if I have time in the morning, I will... but I don't ever eat breakfast. lol

After.... I hate tasting minty breakfast.

Let the bacteria burn in the stomach acid happy.gif

and if I did do it before then I would have to do it after as well, I don't want bits of food still in my mouth, and if I did brush before and after I wouldn't want to wear my enamel down too much.

I usually soak and rinse my dentures
j/k. I prefer to brush when I am showering which could be before or after breakfast.

I brush after I finish my breakfast. I don't like minty and food mix together.

How can you not eat breakfast!! It fuels my morning, otherwise, I'd be sluggish until lunch time.

I tried brushing my teeth after eating breakfast once, but it ruined my daily ritual of drinking a glass of orange juice directly after finishing eating...

Oh, and have any of you ever tried brushing your teeth and then drinking orange juice straight after? Tastes horrible.

If I have breakfast I will brush my teeth after. There's really no point doing it before. If I don't have breakfast, I just clean before I go out.

It tastes awful 'cus it's a base (the toothpaste) mixed with an acid (orange juice)

And Bao, how can you not have orange juice in your house?

I make sure that i at least have 3 citrus fruits in my house at all times. And a quarter of watermelon.

I don't. I have braces and it can be a pain in the butt to floss with braces.

Ewww... Minty milk ftl...

Which also reminds me of something gross - try leaving a cut onion in your fridge, next to the milk carton... You'll get onion flavored milk. I wasn't aware of this, and I vomited right on the ground (the cat promptly lapped it up ={})

Yeah I tried doing it and it just kept shredding up, even the waxed stuff.

So I got this Aquapik water jet that cleans in between, and it feels funny tongue.gif

I just drink water to stay hydrated and milk with cereal. There's some soda in the fridge outside, but I don't drink that; I have a fridge inside and outside and a freezer outside. tongue.gif

Oh LOL, the cat lapped up the oniony bile juice filled liquid? blink.gif Yuck.

Ima have to try that with my sister (though not yet, its her 18th tommorow heh).

Though I remember having warm special cheese in a bag with a carton of out of date apple juice and I was getting all thirsty and took a big gulp down....I wasn't physically sick......until we stopped off at the waltzers, I felt the dreaded clenching throat as I shouted to the ride operator to stop it, I thought I was ok as it started slowing down

Until the projectile vomit burst out of my mouth.....and over everyone, as the ride was still spinning. happy.gif

Oh joy that was, I certainly brushed my teeth nicely after that!
