"Legally" obtain DVD Santa, and click on the AVI to DVD button.
Insert blank DVD and wait an hour.

Get a copy of ConvertXtoDVD in the same crime-free manner you obtained your movies.

So I legally obtained a copy of a program that converts AVI to DVD.
Now I have another question.
What file format has the highest quality if I wanted to legally burn DVDs. Because AVI = the horrible >_<

It's avi all the way.
You probably just got a shitty cam version of your legal video.

DVDR is the best (.vob format) But if its already in avi, theres nothing you can do, once you lower the quality encoding a file with xvid, going back to DVDR format wont help anything, the quality will actually be slightly worse
files are usually encoding with xvid (.avi) because it has a good size:quality ratio, it is NOT the highest quality format, most xvid's are actually encoded to a very low resolution such as 272i, compared to a DVDR's 480i

this is slightly off-topic, but anyone know of a good free converter that converts .mov to .avi or .mpg without putting a watermark on it?

TMPG movie Enc: then use that to convert your avi's to MPEGS
Then use Winavi to convert your MPEGS to DVD folder formats
Then burn those files as a Device using IMGburn I can make a guide if you would like, but it might take time
