There is a minor issue I would like to address and that issue is sucking up to those in a higher position. There are two main reasons that it is 99.8% futile to do so.
1) People typically don't want you to praise them just because of a position they possess (there are naturally exceptions) and
2) There isn't a single individual capable of controlling final decisions, hence your efforts even if you get someone on your side by sucking up, will have been in vain. Though administration does technically have the power to just promote people at ease, it would defeat the purpose of our ranking system and we WILL NOT do so.
It is counterproductive to try and do so. Your best bet in getting anywhere on Neocodex is to be active, friendly and enjoy what you have, not worry about what you could have. I've seen several very good, if not excellent members work themselves into a mess over ranks they didn't have and it ruined them. Speaking about the ranks you're hoping to have someday won't increase your odds of obtaining them (neither will putting such goals in your signature ).
Just some food for thought,
The Neocodex Staff.
