Woman is scared to death of balloons.


There must have been some kind of tragic event that happened involving a balloon.

Woooooooooooooow people on that show are bastards. Real bastards. I mean say she isn't faking it and they do that that is the WORST thing they can do to an extreme phobic. There's a little something called exposure therapy that many psychologists use that involve extremely small baby steps like viewing pictures of balloons, maybe being in a long hallway with them slowly inching closer each day. I mean what the hell were they thinking? xD But then again she's an idiot for even going on that show

I thought you would have known that flooding a phobia can actually work wonders.
Depends on the person of course. Fpr some it requires baby steps, others will do ok with a flooding technique.

i agree, just stick her in a room with a million balloons for 10 hours, she'll get used to it and overcome the fear.

Ah, I mostly learned on agoraphobia so perhaps that's a different technique (well agoraphobia stemming off of panic disorder so this could be something completely different. I haven't taken any 300 level classes yet but it's probably more covered there xD

After watching the youtube clip on the 15 year old so desperate for a baby that she's has unprotected sex 300 times I'm now strongly inclined to believe this show to be a complete and utter fake.
Honestly to god, she should be barking dead by now from the multitude of diseases or pregnant by now. If she can't get pregnant after 300 unprotected times, then she's really infertile.

Aw, poor thing. Too bad for her the whole situation's so funny . But it feels like she's a monkey in a circus, the way everyone laughs at her .
I also have that stupid fear of ringing people up, Kitsune. Never thought of it as a phobia, I'm just terribly shy with strangers. I find it a bit annoying how everything's turned into a phobia these days. It's as if people simply wanted to come up with new words.
