iPods are just like starbucks over price coffee, a 2Gb iPod Nano is the same price as a 20Gb iPod and Creative for the same price is 8Gb plus other features.

Hm. I use just wahtever cheap MP3 player has the most space at the time. All I need it to do is play music, no reason for me to pay ten times as much just so I can say an iPod is playing it.

I greatly agree with illicit, i use my Sony Ericsson phone as my MP3, why should i pay extra for something that does the same thing

Meh...I have an ipod. Got it for Christmas, though; no way in hell that I was shellin' out the money for it. I use it more for videos, though; I only like a couple hundred songs. In the end, it works for me...enough. Once it breaks for good, though, I'll just get a much cheaper alternative that does the same thing.

I honestly can't say since I've only tried a zen for a minute or so. Price wise, they're the same really. The prices vary when it comes to nanos and such, but for 30gb and up, the prices are usually around the same.

For me, the zune is always a winner.

Zen all the way baby. I have never had an i-pod, they are way to much hard work. I got the Creative Zen Vision :M: or something for my 21st birthday and it's awesome. It's my second Zen as my first was stolen.

My friend got the i-pod that plays videos and it was awful. It was rediculously hard just to get a video on the damn thing. Then when he finally managed it the quality was really bad.

Good thing about the Zen is nobody seems to have one in the UK. I don't know another person who has one at least so they are always really curious when they see mine .

I bought the new ipod nano 4GB model; best money I ever spent. The battery life is amazing; I charged it for like 4 hours and I've been listening to it for like 2 weeks now without recharging it, and it still at like 1/4 left. I only listen to it when on the bus or walking somewhere though.

Really? You had trouble with video upload? It's incredibly easy ^-^ If it's not in mpeg4 format, get something that'll do that for ya'. Sometimes it will reject the video if the name is too long (I tried to upload a MST3k movie that had a sentence for a title), so shortening it up usually helps out. I have 50+ hours of video on it, and I've had it for 2 years without so much as a single malfunction.

As far as video quality goes, well...it depends on where you got the vid from. If you got it from youtube, don't expect any miracles. If you got it from a torrent, though, it could be good quality depending on how you convert it. I converted my Serenity dvd at the highest quality and it turned out great. In fact, only one conversion went bad, and that was the Final Sacrifice one that I ripped from youtube.

Personally, it's got the easiest interface ever...just drag and drop, and if it don't work, check the name and file type. Name too long? Shorten it. File type not right? Convert it. Even then, I've only had that issue twice. Maybe that ipod video just hated you?

Favorite thing to do: hook up my ipod video to my plasma screen TV and watch some good quality movies ^-^

I adore the ipod personally. I'm not so much a fan of apple's marketing...(as in, as soon as you buy this really great ipod...a better one comes out lol!! kidding.) But the way it works and is handled is very simple and not as complex. Personally, the zen feels a little bulky to me, and its buttons confuse me. Give me a good click touchy wheel and I'm all set!

You know, an iPod is all well and good to have if you like being a sheep. :3 I think it's true, but I'll be a hypocrite if I say that because I have one, lol. What I'm trying to say is that there's nothing wrong with Creative - I had a MuVo once and it was the most adorable, well working piece of kit
 I ever had. I'd buy one of those over a Shuffle anyday.
