Of course, but you'd be surprised at how many people do not do this. I spend quite some time in the neopet area removing pet/account names, let alone all the other factors which will link a cheater to a neopet account. This is a guide directed to those who are new to neopets/neopet cheating smile.gif

Not if they read my guide wink.gif

I mean, honestly... there is some stuff in there that isn't obvious... like not using the same email. And many people don't know that neopet staff would likely visit sites like this to find people who ahve posted their account or pet names.

I can't view your e-mail though, or anyone else who has their e-mail set as private? Only mods/admins can see other's e-mail addresses unless they also use it as their MSN?

I'd like to think everyone has the capability to learn tongue.gif

If you just finished using a program then wait like an hour before logging in on your browser as it might look suspicious if one second tnt sees that you're using Firefox 2.2.0.1 and another second you're using 2.3.2.1 or something like that. (Credits to Noit (Or maybe it was SL, my memory isn't that good tongue.gif))
If your account isn't that old and you just abed/sniped a couple ubs never list more then 2 at once or you'll look suspicious
Not sure if this works but when I transfer np I transfer it from my main to a different account (linked with the same email) using trades with small/unique numbers (like 201k, 205k and 123k as I'm pretty sure neopets watches junk trades which sell for exactly 800k or something), then I transfer those np to a different account (different browser/ip), self-freeze the account I just used, make the final transfer and ice the most recent account. I'd like to think that helps but it might not tongue.gif

Don't trade things for over 500k if you don't want them watching. Don't sign up after repeat bannings with similar usernames/emails. Don't scam, they hate that. Don't spam their boards, particularly with vulgarity.

i trust that most of them would have that in their subconscious minds, but really forget to go through these steps that you've listed, to stay unfrozen, by using the same email for their accounts.

Fantastic compilation of tips, guess you've put alot of effort into thinking them up biggrin.gif

This is ok but the thing that really gets people frozen is program use. Not the program individually but how it is used. I'll post how to be safe with that soon smile.gif

There are many simple things you can do to avoid getting frozen on neopets. Some may be obvious to you, but not necessarily to others, especially those new to the area.

I have compiled some general tips and hints to avoid this. I will not be going into details about how to use programs and avoid getting frozen as that is a little more in-depth.

Firstly, if you have a neopet account, do not under any circumstances do the following:
  • Do not use your neopet account name as the name you use on neocodex. This is a clear indication that you are probably cheating on your neopet account. However, if your neocodex username is a common name, then there is less concern. For example the neopet account called Kitsune is not my account, the name Kitsune, is quite common.
  • Do not use the same email as the one you use on your neopet account as the one you use on your neocodex profile. Even if you change your neopet email to something else, they will still have records of previous emails used. It is wise to keep your email private or only sign up to neopets with a fresh email.
  • Do not post youraccount name, pet name, or any direct link which will give away the name of your account or pet. Posting your pet name will link directly to your account.
  • Do no post the exact pet statistics such as hit points, strength, etc. While there may be other pets with the exact combination of pet statistics, it is still not a good idea to say the exact statistics. Round up or down (or to the nearest boost) rather than post exact stats.
  • Do not post about a rare event or restock straight away. Wait a day or two (or whenever you feel comfortable), then mention that you got the event or restock a 'little while ago'. Rare events don't happen often and so can be linked to your neopet account quite easily.
Also, be very careful as to who you give out your neopet username to. If in doubt, just say you would prefer to keep it private. Generally speaking, higher ranked members are more trust-worthy, but you should still be careful.
Since we currently do not allow public trading between members, there is no need to give out your username for this purpose.
However, if you have won a contest, then I can say without a doubt that it is fine to give your username to the contest leader.

That is all for now, but this is a work in progress and I will add more as time goes on. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know.

I hope this helps smile.gif

THAT is very good advice right there.

I get frozen a lot... but it's usually from testing programs and purposefully abusing them to check freeze rates and stuff wink.gif

Nice guide Kitsune, you may want to edit in some of the things that have been said in this topic, hopefully it'll help new members tongue.gif

I was browsing through some boards and decided to revisit this after noticing a few things. I think that these are some of the most absured reason to be iced. Certainy common things one would look for on these boards -.-

Suddenly, your username becomes starkly appropriate.
