1.) Ok so I thought the alpha guy looks a whole lot like Voldemort, and it didn't seem to make sense that Neville said that the alpha male had lost all sense of humanity. He used a complicated trap, using what he knew Neville would care about (the mannequin), and didn't necessarily put himself out into sunlight because he was stupid, but rather to show that he was strong enough to volunteer the pain and to intimidate. Oh and keeping and releasing the dogs was very much human like.
2.) I really couldn't stand the screeching though... seriously there was no need for that level of screeching. I didn't understand how the infected ones became so hardened. To the point where they headbutt and crash into seemingly bullet-proof glass to get to Neville at the end yet didn't seem that phased.
3.) I didn't understand why the chose to become cannibals. He said there was like 12 million which were immune, and about 55 million infected that survived. Why did they choose to eat humans? They were essentially humans to begin with so why would they choose to eat other humans when there was clearly escaped zoo animals and other animals around the place.

Part 1.) He looked like Voldemort to me too. D: Anyway, I think maybe Neville was so close to the problem, and so dehumanized himself, he was projecting his own issues into the monster. The alpha clearly had some humanity, even if he was twisted.
Part 2.) I think it's something to do with boosted adrenaline and the newfound strength. The infected for whatever reason got ridiculously strong (because having an anti cancer cell replenishing drug makes you strong o.O) so . . . maybe it Didn't phase them. And I hated that sound too. >.> But I sometimes cover my ears during movies when there's a sound I don't like, and it works for me. OR in horror films so I don't jump.
Part 3.) I think they had been eating zoo animals, too. Sort of a.... anything that crosses my path is dinner, mentality. Or maybe they had some sort of memory from their Before and otherwise decided to kick some human ass... Or maybe they survived because they secretly harbored a desire to become a cannibal in the first place.
I think they no longer really recognized themselves as part of the human species; or other humans as part of their own species... So for them it might've just been like hunting retarded rabbits or something.

My friend made this point to me upon leaving the cinemas: "Hmm... Black Will Smith gets attacked by albino vampires... I wonder if they're trying to make some kind of twisted point?"
Or like he said, it's about the KKK.
