The film was so slow paced! I kept thinking Jesus this has had a slow paced start....but that continued until the end.
I even saw a storyline emerging that didn't actually exist, but probably would have made it more interesting:

The whole story doesn't sounds dissimilar to 28 days later which also had an ending I didn't like

I dunno, overall I just didn't get much or it and I can't really say if it was good due to me only watching the first 5 minutes. I can say, however, that it did not appeal to me.

i believe the ending was on point and necessary to fulfill the tone of the movie. (click spoiler to read my point)

this is because it is the type of the movie that unveils the background story as it goes along, in this case primarily through robert's dreams/flashbacks. by the way, you're first sentence assessment is incorrect and that is not how the movie plays out at all.

Although I do want extra parts of the story to be explained for me...
Anyway, I think it ended better than The Mist.
Not as good as Vincent Price's. But that's because... it was Vincent Price, damn.

the infected were not necessarily smart, except the alpha male (the one who setup the trap, knocked robert's car over, tracked their home, bashed the window open). he was chasing him because robert took his "mate", the alpha female
i didn't see The Mist, was it as badly made as The Fog?

I never said it played out that way, I am just saying that's what the movie, from what I saw, reminded me of, haha. I realise the movie is nothing like that. It was weird because in the beggining he is in a car chasing deer with his car and shooting them at the same time. Something around those lines.
