My wisdom teeth grew in when I was 13 with no pain at all. So when my older sister started to get hers in I laughed >: D Unlike me she was one of those who suffer through the pain ( I know I'm an evil little sister D:).

I wish the best of luck to those who have to get theirs removed or are recovering from it.

Yeah apparently if they grow in at an angle, it causes pain and they need to be removed or things can get ugly ninja.gif

I'm just glad my body isn't making any ohmy.gif.

It's only been three or four hours, but so far it's not very painful at all. It hurts to eat anything with a spoon, though.
They have me on generic vicodin, and I have to say.. it's a wonder drug. tongue.gif

The surgery went fine, if you'd call it a surgery. They put me on anesthesia and I fell asleep within half a minute. When I woke up, I was convinced that I hadn't fallen asleep and asked my mom when they were going to start. I'm still kind of numb from the anesthesia and a little high from the pills, but all in all it hasn't been bad. Before I left, they gave me a bottle of apple juice, which made me extremely happy at the time. biggrin.gif

Discuss your experiences with dentists, doctors, surgery, whatever you all want.

Also, in memory of Cody (whom I haven't seen in a long time).. PLUR.

Glad it went alright. I hope I don't have to get my wisdom teeth pulled. They don't seem to be growing funny or bothering me so I'm hoping for the best. sad.gif

I actually don't even know if I have wisdom teeth or not..... too lazy to check or care right now. tongue.gif

Ugghh.. they put me on generic vicodin for pain and it's keeping me from falling asleep. I've only been taking half-pills so far and I've been wide awake since my first one. tongue.gif

If you are like me, you aren't even growing in any tongue.gif. Then you can also just not have them grow in at an angle tongue.gif.

Wisdom teeth = braces? I don't think so tongue.gif.

Wisdom teeth is the common name for a third molar that grows in for some people around the age of their teens or early 20s. Some don't have them grown in. Supposedly it was used by earlier humans to chew raw meat but as our jaws have become smaller and smaller, we are no longer in need of them (especially now since we have cooked food tongue.gif). For some they grow in at an angle and can cause immense pain and are subject to infection and gangrene and so sometimes need to be surgically removed.

Mine is starting to come out slowly, hopefully I don't get any pain or discomfort. If it goes fine I wont need to remove it.
