It's only been three or four hours, but so far it's not very painful at all. It hurts to eat anything with a spoon, though.
They have me on generic vicodin, and I have to say.. it's a wonder drug. tongue.gif

The surgery went fine, if you'd call it a surgery. They put me on anesthesia and I fell asleep within half a minute. When I woke up, I was convinced that I hadn't fallen asleep and asked my mom when they were going to start. I'm still kind of numb from the anesthesia and a little high from the pills, but all in all it hasn't been bad. Before I left, they gave me a bottle of apple juice, which made me extremely happy at the time. biggrin.gif

Discuss your experiences with dentists, doctors, surgery, whatever you all want.

Also, in memory of Cody (whom I haven't seen in a long time).. PLUR.

I got mine out early last year. biggrin.gif

They put me on IV anesthesia, and it took me a good ten minutes to fall asleep.
Maybe you're just a light-weight. tongue.gif

I got some vicodin for mine too but unfortunately for me, I haven't really gotten any high off of the prescription drugs I've been given. ):
Enjoy your Jell-o and applesauce though. smile.gif

I'd also suggest getting some of that Carnation Instant Breakfast stuff.
It's great.

I got my Wisdom teeth removed when I was around 18. They had to go in after them because they hadn't grown in yet... and I can't remember anything from three days after my surgery. Bwahahaha.

I had friends come visit me, and they said that my cheeks were puffed out... and that I was the cutest Stoned* Chipmunk they'd ever seen.

XD

Glad your surgery went well. thumbsup.gif

Hmmmmmmmm... don't you love surgeries like that? All things should be like that. Oh, did you feel like throwing up after? I mean at least you didn't ask for localized which would suck. I've had to sit through gum surgery before for hours and it wasn't fun sad.gif

Oh, can you eat popsicles?

Yeah, they should find a way to make anything unpleasant go by that fast. tongue.gif I didn't feel like throwing up after the surgery, but when I took half of a pill I was very close to.

I'm pretty sure I can eat them, and I have a whole box of them in the freezer, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow because I'd imagine it's similar to drinking out of a straw and I don't want to mess anything up.

I don't see the point in getting them taken out unless they're getting impacted... blink.gif Completely unnecessary if they're growing in fine. I've had 2 of mine in so far and had no problems with them. smile.gif

For whatever reason, a lot of peoples mouthes are too small to keep their wisdom teeth. I don't think people get them removed unless necessary.

Haha good to know it's all as easy as though.

Though saying that I'm 18 and mine haven't even started to grow yet, I saw my dentist in like September and she said she thought she saw one starting to come through but there's been nothing =S. Maybe I'll never have to worry about having them removed! tongue.gif

Also, free apple juice would make me very happy with or without drugs tongue.gif.

I had two of them still in my gums growing in... but there wasn't enough room for them to come in. So they got taken out. ; ;

Also: I ended up getting dry socket and had to go back for surgery again.

That sucked way worse than the original surgery. ; ;

Reading your experience made me more comfortable with the thought that I might have to get them removed one day. But so far, my body hasn't made wisdom teeth. I hear all these horror stories and so I'm a little scared sad.gif.

From my experience so far, I'd either say the horror stories are disgustingly exaggerated, or everyone reacts differently. I'm supposed to be at my worst on Sunday, but I really don't think it will be as bad as I was expecting before I got this done.

I'm feeling perfectly normal right now. In fact, I planned on going to the mall but my parents wanted me to stay in until I'm healed up a bit.

Probably moreso for the sake of people trying to shop at the mall tongue.gif

Let me know how it is on Sunday. I'm still a little scared. Everyone talks about wisdom teeth like they are the worst thing that ever happens to you because of how painful getting them removed can be.

Actually, I look completely normal. I've been icing my face all day, and expected that there would be a lot of puffing.. but it's barely noticeable.

Probably because I'm tuff stuff.

Question: Would your religion go against taking painkillers of any sort afterwards? I'm sure that would make all the difference in the world tongue.gif

I don't think religion says anything on that sort of stuff tongue.gif. Even if it has alcohol in it, the alcoholic content is very small and you aren't taking it for the alcohol within it anyway so your intention is pure. I think there is a difference of opinion on that though within the scholars and that is also only for the cough and cold medicine tongue.gif. I'm just applying that to pain killers as well.

The pain would be unbearable if you didn't take those painkillers so it's better to take the easy path tongue.gif. It's pretty lax up here tongue.gif.

Well, from what I've heard most people say, the pain shouldn't be too bad so long as you're properly medicated. That means taking it consistently though, not when it starts to hurt more xD

Your body hasn't decided to erupt them yet....just wait devil.gif

When I had braces, I had x-rays and the orthodentist noted, that, like my Father I had no wisdom teeth smile1.gif
