Whenever I make pancakes, they always stick (even in non-stick pans) so when I try and put them on the plate they fall apart sad.gif *sniff*

That's because YOUR DOING IT WRONG!

Anyway, I don't think there are any ihops in Canada. Plenty of good local spots though.

WAFFLE HOUSE! Holy balls, I haven't been to one of those in years. It's a predominantly southern restuarant (there is not ONE here in Michigan, and you start seeing them friggin everywhere the farther you go south) but I think I've been to the northernmost one tongue.gif It's in Toledo, Ohio.
God, probly one of the most unhealthy places in the world, though.. but sooooo good.

Pancake day is the last day before the beginning of Lent, or 47 days before Easter Sunday. That's the real pancake day, aka Shrove Tuesday.
Apparently, you in America have seen fit to pervert this wholesome Christian ritual into a farcical episode of fitful commercialism.
Anyone surprised?

There could be another explanation though. A lot of people get offended about religious days and USA/Canada is notorious to caving into whiny peoples complaints. Could have just been moved a week to avoid religious ties tongue.gif

Same here, the closest one to me is about 20 miles away, not that I've ever gone to it. And the waffle house thing is so true. laugh.gif Last summer I was on a family vacation to Las Vegas and there was literally one about every 10-20 miles. tongue.gif

Breakfast at dinner is the new in thing. I don't like heavy foods in general and breakfast foods are so light biggrin.gif. Cereal is always a go.

I may be visiting my local IHOP tonight tongue.gif. It's only on the other end of town but with a car, you can get anywhere in less than 20 minutes tongue.gif.

AKA "Fat Tuesday" smile.gif
It's pretty big around here in Michigan and in this area we've got a lot of Polish heritige, so paczkis are the food of choice.
Lemon ones are the best. biggrin.gif

Haha I was just trying to remember the explaination from last year as to why Americans did it a week after us, guess that clears it up fairly perfectly tongue.gif.

If I'm not mistaken, since a very long time ago. Don't bite me if my facts/words aren't completely accurate as I haven't bothered to double check (about to go to bed) but pancake day was done before lent to use up all the extra food that they wouldn't be needing during their fast (lent), like eggs and that, which is why it's done just before lent starts.

I wonder why this iHop thing only pushed their date back a week =/. Pretty twisted if you ask me tongue.gif.
