Hmm. I think it's fine not listening to music. I agree that most popular music today is eh... demoralizing and pretty insulting to anyone who listens to the lyrics closely. I'm more into classical music and soundtracks. ((I love my POTC 2 soundtrack!))

If I were really into music, that's what I would listen to as well.

With all this said about lyrical content being crap, I must say that there are exceptions to this rule of thumb. I've recently heard some eminem and his lyrics are very deep and sometimes moving. He writes his songs to have meaning behind them and they aren't just about drugs, sex, guns and money each and every song. I suppose that's why he is so popular: because he has depth to his music.

He's also an amazing performer tongue.gif.

I am not a crazy fan of music where I always want it with me. I listen to a song if it sounds good at times.

I used to think music was going down the hellhole, turning myself to the antiquated psychedelic era of LSD yore; but then I turned off the radio, and turned on the internet.

Ooo, much better.

it's weird to me if you don't like music..to me ....music = sound.
So ..basically anything I hear can be music to me.
I love music , GOOD music....wait...!!!REAL MUSIC!!! =O
If the world was without sound, I would die.

I'm waitin for a song to be sung with people talking in the background.....iono...sounds cool >.>
I wouldn't blame you for shutting your ears off, especially with hip hop today....I refuse to call that crap hip hop!
And these pop, country and soulful songs...feels like these few years brought us a bunch of one-hit wonders.
Sometimes I just stick to classical music.

Does acapella count? tongue.gif

In any case, I know of a musical genre which is just a voice singing and maybe a drum in the background but other than that, there are no instruments. It makes for some pure sounding songs smile.gif. I don't mind that stuff...

I think all that sound though with instruments, drums, singing just stresses me out as it's too much tongue.gif.

I usually listen to music because it allows me to alter my mood.
Whether I'm getting pumped up for a race, relaxing with my friends, or sitting down with my girlfriend music has can change my mood.

I think that's another reason why I don't listen to it...because it has that effect. I'm scared of letting anything else but myself control me ohmy.gif

Well that's an interesting way to look at it. You make it sound as if its a narcotic tongue.gif

I know many kids at my school who just simply hate music. I love music, hence, I don't like non-music listeners. Even when I'm listening to a song while walking, I insist on tapping the beats on something, be it my foot (which is awkward while walking) or clapping. I simply cannot focus on any assignments I have without music. I've got 53 smart playlists in iTunes, depending on what I want to listen to. I got enthusiastic about music when I started listening to Jazz and Rock. In fact, I'm listening to So What by Miles Davis. Listen to it, you might like it and actually start enjoying music.

I can send you some stuff where it's just the vocals and the drum tongue.gif. Perhaps later and if you are interested tongue.gif.

I only like music when theres nothing else for me to do but there was this one time when i was having a sleep-over at my friends house and when we where about to go to sleep he blasts some music on and says he cant sleep without it. The only thing was that I cant sleep if theres even the slitest little distraction. We finaly agreed for him to listen to his Ipod but it was still kind of funny. tongue.gif

A good compromise tongue.gif. Had that happened at my house, my Father would have kicked the poor guy out onto the streets without even a blanket tongue.gif.

Part of me wants to see that laugh.gif and tape it laugh.gif and then put it online laugh.gif
