Harry Potter (guilty)
I quite enjoyed (my recent read) The Hobbit. ((moving on to The Lord of the Rings soon...))
A few select Stephen King stories.

I can't really think of anything else. O.O
I know I've read other good things....

Well, the last non-philosophical book I read was The Culture of Complaint: The Fraying of America, which was fairly interesting, though fairly biased towards the liberal side. I mean, the main thesis of it was fairly spot on, but it then started waxing romantic about the Democratic party and casting out evils of the Republicans.

I guess I don't read much fiction, but the last book I read that I really enjoyed was Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut.

Ooo, I really liked The Giver. For some reason, which I assume because it doesn't use those big, fancy words (Hemmingway, anyone?), it is considered lower reading. Enjoyable story nonetheless.

Anyone who likes Harry Potter should REALLY check out The Lightning Thief, part of the Percy Jackson And The Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Wonderful if you appreciate roman/greek mythology. Amazing but unpublicized.

If you like the classical fantasy/weirdness, check out Artemis Fowl Praised by many.

Also, if you appreciate historical fiction, The Book Theif is the ironic book of the month for you. Great yet usually unknown to the younguns like me.

Other than those, it's ALLLLL choice.

All of the Ender's series were very good books however I tended to like Bean's storyline more. Much more interesting.

Let me see... I of course love Harry Potter. happy.gif;;

But I also really, really loved the Xanth novels by Piers Anthony. There are like some 26 or so of them... They're fantasy and sometimes real world, but they're good. happy.gif

The first one I read was about the Magician Humphry (sp?) who is in almost every book. "Question Quest" I think is the title. It's in the middle of the series, and I just thought it was cool he knew he was a character in a book.

I have read 3 first ones in series, but cant manage to find any other from library n such)

  • The DaVinci Code (I don't care how hyped up and bandwagony it is to say I liked it, it was an amazing read first time through)
  • The Belgariad and Malloreon Series by David Eddings, also Belgarath the Sorcerer and Polgara the Sorceress, prequels to these series.
  • Hat Full of Sky, Wee Free Men and Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett. I know they're from his kiddie collection but I love them all the same tongue.gif.
  • The Redemption of Althalus, also by David Eddings but an entirely different novel, so gets to be on it's own line ^-^.
  • Harry Potter (though it would be much improved if they'd just written it without Harry Potter).
  • Eye to Eye by Franz Lanting. Not really a novel at all as it's full of his photography, but it's a book and I love it, so yeah.
  • Animal by David Burnie, not a novel either but it's still very interesting.

Then! For when I was younger:
  • Every book ever written by Roald Dahl, and the same for Brian Jacques, though I think he released a few after I'd grown out of them a bit.
  • Cherry Tree Farm by Enid Blyton, also the Secret Seven collection.
  • The Very Hungry Caterpiller.
  • The books on Spot the dog happy.gif.
