I had a cyst in my hand a while ago. Doctor injected it with something and popped it in the process. Oozing pus is strangely satisfying.

More likely nothing's really badly wrong. Just because I want to make sure... open your mouth and look in a mirror with a flash light. How do your tonsils look? Occasionally when they're really big they can poke out the sides of the neck as well. Likely it could just be reacting to an infection and be no big deal. Plenty of people have swollen nodes. I wouldn't worry TOO much but get it checked out if it doesn't get better by tomorrow. Also take your temperature just in case. I mean do you have any other symptoms? I mean these things can get swollen just if a cold is coming on like foogie said. It's just more unusual.

Oh, and guys? Try not to scare him too much with surgery or cancer next time, okay? I mean... ummm... if someone told me that I might have to get surgery or I have cancer I'd be pretty fucking freaked. Leave that up to doctors :\
