Just recently, I have gotten in touch with Adam Powell, the creator of Neopets.
Now obviously, he sold the company to Viacom nigh on two years ago now, but I was wondering if you guys had any questions you wanted to ask him about the origins of the site, or the running, or the decision to sell, or anything like that.

Basically, anything you can come up with that isn't offensive

I already intend to ask him what he thought of the Neopets hacking/cheating communities that arose while he was the big cheese at Neo, so there's no need to bring that up.

Why have they gotten so sloppy when it comes to fixing things/ making real updates? The pound has been down forever, no new avatars in quite some time either and of course the neoschool to name a few...

If you can get some hints on how they detect autobuyers it would be good.

You should ask him whether the commercialisation of the site has been an improvement or detrimental to the original concept.

Also, ask him if he's happy with how Viacom is handling the site.

I think a big question would be how aware are they about cheating communities, and how they detect cheat programs and stuff.

This is pretty interesting. Actually Joe, if we could leverage this to benefit the site, that would be awesome. It would be cool to have an interview with Adam Powell, creator of Neopets, and publish it online under the Neocodex name. I'll catch you on MSN sometime and we can discuss some of my other ideas for it and if you would be cool in doing it that way .

I'm not entirely sure Joe would go volunteering the information that he is apart of the site but after finding out what he thinks of cheating sites, and if it's not altogether negative, or neutral then it could be possible to *then* say it.

I am interested in how he personally felt when his site was hacked, cheated etc. Was the original team more concerned with having a level playing field for everyone, or were they ticked that someone was able to bend the rules.
