There's always something, it's just extremely hard to find, otherwise someone would have found it by now.

But if you can find it, you'll be swimming in cash.

They're the flagships for the 'cool stuff.'
They're the originals, or the ones that were business-smart enough to be written in the books that way. smile.gif

It's fucking brutal, that's for sure. The best goal would be to run a small business, and even that's a fucking hassle. I wouldn't say those guys were lucky, but they were certainly in the right place at the right time for their corporation to bloom.

I also do think that many of the people who started were lucky and were at the right place at the right time.

Well, I don't think you have to be that smart.
Just talented and be at the right place at the right time, like Muse said.
I don't mean like neopets rich, I mean like Donald trump.

I could rest easy while saying that making money isn't hard; there are consequences other than ease. Building an empire, is an entirely different business that cannot be explained by one business model, because each "empire" used their creative abilities coupled with those money making abilities to reach where they were.

Actually, many things are like that. Making music isn't hard, but creating it can and usually will be. Similes and metaphors.

Actually, a few of the businesses you mentioned bloomed during the rise of Fascism. Well, at least many Italian/German/Japanese companies did. The governments paid them to produce war materials, or anything they needed.. giving them huge lump sums of money to invest in other technologies that their companies built for the citizens.

In todays world? Have a good idea and a good business model. You have to get the name out there and get some big league funding. That or if you already have a bunch of money, buy somebody else's good idea and go ahead and market the shit out of it. Hell, if you are so rich you can go ahead and pay somebody to do all the work for you! smile1.gif

I think today you'd have to have a remarkable idea or take an idea that's already out there and think of ways to one-up it, I guess. Like how they're doing with computers and cars and such. They're constantly trying to improve them or make it better, I guess. More mobile or easy. Shit like that.

Or you can be the guy that creates the next spork. O-o
