I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were about the neopets toolbar. I know you can get the exclusive tarla giveaways but I also heard that it installs spyware and checks what websites you're visiting ect. Let me know and thanks in advance

If I remember right, the spyware thing was just a rumor. I've been thinking about it but I'm not sure it'd be safe if you were using cheats or something. I say go for it.

nine you're prolly right... it does kinda sound like a rumor that they would use it to check what other websites you were viewing. i uninstalled my toolbar when i read that someplace else online...i'm a little bit of a paranoid person so i just wanted to check first. i wish there was a way to alter it so it beeped or something when there was a tarla alert... thanks agian

Here's the page that I found helpful and it does confirm the spyware thing is a rumor:
http://www.neopets.com/~Xoe676 (It's like number 19 or something.)

Also, here's some other helpful pages regarding the toolbar:
http://www.neopets.com/~Zapp_Spazz
http://www.neopets.com/~Nerokuneo

Hope they help.

If you have been logged out of your computer for a while,(longer than 30 minutes I believe is the time frame) the alert button auto flashes when you sign back on. When you click it it will give you a msg to the effect that there is no prize available currently. This is basically letting you know that your toolbar(and the Alert button) are working. If there was an alert close to when you signed back on it will say something like,"You just missed the last giveaway, but don't worry Tarla will be back later." This means it will most likely be a while before she comes back.

and thus lessens my pain of being shafted!

Glad to be of help.

Now that I think about it I wonder why I haven't installed it yet. Probably 'cause I'm just being lazy. -_-

I have the toolbar, but I have it on IE which I never use. So it's fairly useless. I have to say I'm afraid to install it on my firefox. >.>

Is this toolbar the size of a normal (i.e. yahoo, google, piratebay...) toolbar? I would dl it, but if it's the same as the others I can't. I'm already down to half my screen! The other half is freak'n toolbars.

If thats the case you can always right click on a empty space in your toolbar and click the name of one your not using to hide it until you need to use it ... thats what I do
