If you where truly verbaly warned because of talking about your drug usage then I'm sorry as there really isn't a rule against it.

If you happen to come across that verbal warning however, I would like to see it so if you could please PM it to me.

As far as the topic goes, the original posters intent was to talk about your favorite types of fire arms and we should really keep on that focus, and not stray onto your dislike for firearms.

I personally have always been a fan of the Glock. The standard 22 is simply an amazing hand gun and something I would trust my life with ( if of course I ever needed to. )

( one of the most common guns among police officers. )

I never really got into the larger guns. I shot a few back when I use to visit the naval base on a regular basis, but never really enjoyed them as much as I did the side arms.

SO to get back on topic......I never really got into the Glock movement. While they shoot underwater and are damn near indescructable, they feel like toys. The reason most civilian officers are issued these are because thier durability and cost. I wouldn't want to be holding one of these in a firefight situation as compared to other models of handguns. They are IMO too lightwieght which causes excessive recoil, too short of a barrel which reduces accuracy as well as heats faster causing stovepipe jams in some models >.<, and I really lothe the cheap ass 9cal round. The 9 caliber is like a comprimise from the velocity of a .32 and the flat impact of a .44 and really delivers neither.

The durability of it really is the reason I love it. If you want to go for style points and power then I'd have to go for the S&W Magnum. I'm not typically a revolver fan, but all around it is are a bad ass weapon.

Personally, I don't think people should be allowed to own guns outside of hunting purposes. Handguns, semi autos and automatics are totally unnecessary. tongue.gif

I have two very old 410 shotguns (They're 80-90 years old), that work fine for birds, a .22 rifle for other small game and a 303 savage, which is great for deer hunting.

ofc an ak in close quarters is silly that's why you go with an American standard of a sawed off shotgun wink.gif Honestly I see these "weapons" more as tools. Different ones serve different purposes. I might be a bit biased as I was raised around them and probally had my first experience with shooting at around the age of 6.

blink.gif
Why use a sawed off shotgun, when you could just use a normal one? 1we8.gif If you're so bad that you can't hit someone in close quarters, except with a sawed off shotgun, then there's something wrong... I'd rather use a 12 GA or something 1we8.gif

I have fired many weapons in my day and only own a few... Unfortunately, I do not have the military experience you have and have not fired the weapons that you have... (That MK-19 sounds fucking badass, though.)

I only officially own two weapons.

Colt AR-15

I recently acquired this grandfathered weapon as a birthday gift. biggrin.gif
Beretta cx4 storm

I believe I made a post about this weapon when I acquired it... some of you may remember.

I unofficially also own a HK P7M13 9MM Pistol. I don't officially own it as I'm not of legal age to own a pistol, but I've already been informed that it is mine upon my 21st birthday. This was the first pistol I ever shot and I absolutely fell in love with it. Between the great safety hand grip feature, the 13 round clip, and the amazing rate of fire, this is definitely my favorite pistol I've seen.

Other than those, I've shot roughly 15-20 firearms since the age of 15. I come from a pretty major 2nd amendment activist family if you couldn't tell...

The weapon I hope to one day use is the M107 .50 cal.
This weapon can apparently be accurate up to 1 mile in distance!

I'm still tired but I think I covered everything I really wanted to... yeah...

Edit: Oh yeah! I completely agree that the AK-47 is a lousy piece of shit firearm.

Cory: In Texas it is legal to own a completely automatic weapon as long as you have a government stamp ($300). Unfortunately, that stamp allows the government to come into your home at any time and check on the weapon to ensure you still own it and to ensure that it is safely secured, etc. IMO, that is completely not worth it... Semi-Automatic weapons are just effective in the kind of combat we would be involved in on the domestic side.

Those are awesome looking guns, though I can't see them as being practical... They're the ones that should be illegal. tongue.gif

The .50 is amazing though. The power behind that thing is insane. And that one you get when you turn 21 or whatever, is AWESOME!

QUOTE (113 @ Mar 23 2008, 04:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yeah, I've heard that having a handgun at home actually increases your chance of getting shot. Also having something like AK47 at home for defense is just silly.

QUOTE (Tetiel @ Mar 23 2008, 04:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Beyond hunting purposes I question that too. I think a handgun puts you at more risk primarily if you have young children in the house :\ Some parents are completely crazy and actually tell their children where their guns are at. Not a good idea *shakes head*

...

I've known where my family's guns were since I can remember. Why WOULD my dad hide them from me? 1we8.gif
I got a bow and arrow from an uncle when I was like 6 or 7 or something, and I got a pellet gun a year or two after that. I've been shooting my dads shotgun nearly since I was old enough to go hunting with him (6 or 7 or 8 or so).
I also knew where the shells were, and how to load, fire, and aim it.

I guess my dad raised me with gun safety in mind, he was always telling me how important safety was, and never to let the gun point at anyone, even by accident or anything.
QUOTE (113 @ Mar 23 2008, 04:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Like, seriously? Why in the name of cthulhu do you need guns? Just because you can? I understand that the Army needs guns, the police needs guns (although look at UK, they don't really have armed police there), but why does an ordinary citizen need guns?

Because they are -awesome-.

QUOTE (Cory @ Mar 23 2008, 10:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I never said it wasn't dangerous, but it's been a while since I saw someone get shot in a thread about guns.

Maybe you could point out where someone had a verbal warn ?

I think I see your logic... rec. drugs threads may interest people, and they might end up doing them 1we8.gif

Honestly, I agree with your reasoning, but it wouldn't be the end of the world, and I doubt the people would make it very long in life without being offered drugs, and they'd end up doing them any way, I would think, if they're able to be turned to doing them because they read about it on a forum 1we8.gif

Hell yes they'd be in shit. Only problem is, they're their own enemy now xD

Agreed, but it's too late to fix it now. The only people that wouldn't have handguns, and killing weapons instead of hunting weapons (yes, I believe there's a difference), is the people that would use them for protection, and not for illegal things. The bad people already got what they need 1we8.gif

I (my dad) has a 20 GA, a .22 rifle, and a .375 rifle. All hunting. I've shot all of them, and I've also shot a 12 GA, and another rifle, can't remember what it was though, it might've been a 30-06 or something.

I can't see that happening. Frankly I see America becoming a totalitarian regime before there's a revolution. And said regime would stop a revolution from occuring.
