The teacher was talking about WWII. Then he got to the part about atomic bombs. He described how everyone near the bomb was instantly killed and vaporized. Right when he said that the kid turned around, smiled and give me a thumbs up. blink.gif

See? People are fucked up everywhere in the world sad.gif

So do you know this kid at all? You know like... who he hangs around. What type of stereotype he fits into and that stuff.

That would freak me out blink.gif

What are the possible explanations for doing that?!? All of them would make him seem like a weirdo.

Why did he choose you to smile at? blink.gif That kid sounds a bit disturbed lol... (or he just doesn't like the Japanese, they did invade Malaysia after all...)

Oh... well... you know it may make a little more sense now. A lot of east asian countries still hate the Japanese for what they did to them. I mean the Japanese like raped their homeland right before they attacked Pearl Harbor :\ I just hope that isn't the case though.

EDIT: Great minds think alike, Laser?

Indeed. tongue.gif

I think it would be difficult to forgive the people who invaded your country only 60 years ago. It's kind of understandable if you think of it like that.

It's funny though because now the Japanese are so strongly against war and violence. blink.gif How things change...

He was actually talking about the japanese invasion of malaysia and stuff before we got into that discussion. Maybe he does hate japan... ninja.gif

I agree, Laser. It's kind of strange but look at West Germany vs East Germany. West Germany was taught that what happened was horrible and it was the citizens who were just as responsible as the government for going along with it. Supposedly the Russians taught the East Germans that it was the government's fault and the citizens were not as responsible. As a result there is or at least was a rift in thinking about racism and war. It's really quite interesting in the differences of war. If you rebuild a country and rehabilitate it or you leave it for the wolves (ex WWI).

I mean... atomic bombs are cool and all... but the only reason I could see my SELF doing that, would be as a joke... like you see on tv. Crazy guy, like Doctor Nick from the Simpsons, gives thumbs up for something retarted. xD

maybe you weren't paying attention to him until then?

The whole thing about him maybe not liking the Japanese makes sense.
Though I probably wouldn't think him weird for doing it. I would pass it off as a joke or something.

That is a little weird. I'd think he did it jokingly but I dunno. blink.gif;
