Thats episode two. Which we'll have to do tomorrow or the day after, as I've got to finish a paper. How ridiculous is the concept of a partner paper? Two people 'work together' and submit one finished product. But what really happens is one person does all the work and submits it for both of them. Stupid.

Problem: The reason the person was a leader of their section was because they had expertise in their area (and a bit of leadership). I became Programming Leader because I knew multiple languages and had over 2 years of experience with Neopets and programming hacks/bots. Going from that all the sudden to moderating the entire board is pretty illogical. Now if the staff would have evaluated the way I led my section and felt I could handle the responsibility and power that comes with the Moderator tag, than things would be different. But here that's not the case, it's simply a mass promotion of leaders to moderators despite some possibly lacking the responsibility and/or leadership to handle the rank.

Do you honestly think that the staff would come up with this idea and carry it out without considering the people that would be promoted as a consequence? You're perfectly entitled to think we're dreadful choices, but I highly doubt we'd have been promoted without a lot of consideration from the staff as to whether or not we were actually suitable for the new responsibilities and leadership put upon us. The only reason it has become a 'mass promotion of leaders to moderators' as you say, will be because it was decided each of us could cope with the rank.

Now, it's possible that they came to the wrong decision I suppose, but only time will tell that one.

Yes, I do believe that. I find it very hard to believe that they did actually evaluate every single person because I believe some of the ones that were promoted lack the responsibility and self-control to handle the rank. So to me it's quite easy to agree that this could simply have been a mass promotion. Besides, even if they would have thought someone couldn't handle it, it would look odd to promote all section leaders except for one.

It's understandable that you feel that way, but I assure you they did. Curious little me searched for that thread the moment I got promoted . And also, there actually are leaders that were not promoted to moderator if you look carefully. All the concerns you have were evaluated by the staff.
