So, my computer does the automatic update thing. Vista SP1 was of course one of the things it decided to install. After it was done everything seemed fine, but I didn't check the internet. Next morning internet doesn't work on this computer, but does on the other 3 (1 of the 3 running vista). So I uninstall the update, which did nothing. Then did a system restore, which failed half-way through. So my computer then just never loaded. I decide to try in Safe mode, which just made my computer show a blue screen for half a second and then restarted. Did that until I pressed the power button.

I was tired of vista, so I found a XP CD pro I burned a few months ago. And thats where I am now.

Now to the problem, when I move a window or minimize/maximize/scroll down in firefox it lags for a few seconds.

Anyone know how to fix that?

Install your video drivers.

How?

Its been 2 years since I bought this computer, and I'm not sure what video card I have. Pretty sure it was made by nvidia.

Edit: Think I found it.

Is it a computer from a big company? (eMachine, HP, Dell, Gateway)

If so, go to their page and search for your computer model.

Found out it was a nvidia GeForce 7300 LE. Device manager just finished installing the driving for it. A lot less lag.

Now go to your manufacturers web site and downlaod your other drivers. Windows may be *working* but it will run faster with all drivers installed.

True, and for the Vista thing it was most likely just something very simple that needed to be changed. So far 3 of my computers have been running Vista SP1 perfectly

At least you could update to SP1.
