I have a built in wireless card in my computer so I can connect to the internet where there is cell phone service. Its a Verizon Wireless card, however, under device manager, it is listed as a "Dell Wireless 1390 mini WLAN card." The card is manufactured by Broadcom. I have gone to verizon, and they said go to dell. I want to Micro Center (a local tech store) and they said to go to Verizon. I am leaning towards just calling Dell and explaining my problem, and praying they dont tell me to go to Verizon. Does anyone have any hints or tips as to what that error means? (micro center said it was a software issue, relating to verizon and supposedly they should have a CD for me or something.)

I have been to the Novatel website, and its not much help. By random google search, I found out that the file missing from a certain folder is called "loader.dll" and it has come up in virus searches as malware. Does anyone think they can find this file for me and show me where to put it? I think this is my problem! My Anti-Virus software deleted the file needed to run the utility!

I have even been to the official VZAccess Manager website, and they dont have my computer listed (all they have Lenevo, Toshiba, and Panasonic), so I cant download the "official" software from the Verizon Site.

Does it not connect at all?

This is basically just a dial up modem. Try creating a manual dial up connection using your dell wireless card as a modem

Number to dial: #777
Username: <YourPhoneNumber>@Vzw3g.net
Password: vzw

If you need more help making that connection, go here http://www.azteca.ne.../windowsxp.html

Or feel free to post here. I'm pretty comfortable with the internal data cards.

** Edit**

Has this ever worked? I forgot, there's an activation you have to do for it to work the first time... You can try making the card dial *22899 But it may not work...

Please post your Laptop model and I'll try to find working software for you.

Sorry to answer for him,

This is essentially a Verizon Wireless phone (modem) which is built inside his Dell Laptop. It's like if you were to use your phone as a modem or use a Data card only it's physically built into his laptop.
