Just wanted to give a small update as to the progress of the staff on working on the site today.
Board upgrade
You may have already noticed it but we have upgraded the forum scripts to Invision Power Board 2.3.5. While many things are still left to be done such as the reintroduction of skins and the fixing of some errors that may occur on the board, the forum is laregly usable at this point. If you do find any errors though, please post about them in this forum and hopefully someone can come along and help out.
Wiki
Codedreamer has reminded us of the initial effort long ago of setting up a wiki for the site. Laser Wave's wiki failed since we didn't use it enough for the benefit of the website. Staff was to set one up but it didn't happen. Finally we have a wiki up to use for the website, and best of all, it runs the same software which wikipedia runs. Check it out here. With this wiki we will be able to put up code snippets for the programmers, create documentation on how to use different programs and more. What I am also very excited about is the start of some community driven projects. We will start a project to document the history of Neocodex. Members of the site can contribute to this project and document all that has happened in the history of Neocodex. Furthermore, we will start a project for neopets and document all that is on their website too.
This is very exciting to me because this is one more avenue for those who wish to get involved in projects going on the board even if they don't have knowledge of programming or graphics.
Many of the sections on the wiki have still not been set up yet but I wanted to tell you guys about what was coming . I hope you like it . We are planning to keep the wiki on as a long term feature.
Tracker
We have included a bug tracker system which will allow programmers to better keep track of bugs. There was a simple system in place in the previous downloads system but with the revamps of the downloads system that SL has done such a wonderful job with, we wanted to make sure that the new rendition of downloads on Neocodex would be the best possible. Hopefully the programmers will put this to use .
Member Map
An updated version of the member map mod is also available to you at this time. The map pins are no longer available and due to the corruption of many of the pins in the prior map, I think it would be good to start fresh with pins on the map. You can even select different kinds of pins. I think you will like this section of the board too and if need be, we can try getting those older pins back .
That's all for now as I'm heading off to get some rest before I return to do more work on the board tomorrow.
Please let me know what you think .
