Working in a gas station can be kinda fun, but some customers just make me want to punch them in the face.


I have to check every bill above $20 with a special "counterfeit" marker (makes no mark on money, makes a dark gray mark on anything else). I can't tell you how many times I hear "HEY I JUST PRINTED THAT LOLOL I AM SO FUCKING CLEVER."

Also, the sheer amount of minors tryign to buy cigarettes, then proceeding to get pissed off at me is astounding. The sheer sense of entitlement these kids have is jaw-dropping. They don't annoy me quite as much, though, mainly since I get to be a passive-aggressive asshole to them.

They try because a good number of gas station employees are teenagers or young adults aged 18-20. Many of which don't bother to check for ID. A buddy of mine got fired from his job and a $500 fine for selling cigarettes to a minor a few months ago. It's worth inconveniencing some people to keep your job.

Personally I think smoking is stupid though (no offense to anyone that smokes)...you don't get any pleasure, only pain in the long run.

A surprisingly large amount of places will "believe" that you're old enough, and sell them to you anyway.

i beg to differ. It help kill stress a lot. I can't function without a smoke break at work. Don't know if it's only my brain getting it's fix that relieves it, but i know something happens...

The gas station near my house the dude asks for 3 dollars everytime you try to buy something and he knows your underage. I prefer not to go to him, but i do every once in awhile... He works at the peak hours of 11 PM to 6 AM. So i have to go in sometime .

I work at a pizza place and for the most part I enjoy my job. It's active and most of the people I work with are cool. The only part of the job that occasionally makes me want to quit is the whole dealing-with-customers part.

So I'm cleaning the bathrooms at the end of a long day. I'm coming out of the Women's bathroom holding a bucket of cleaning water, two spray bottles and like 4 rags and when I exit the bathroom there's a woman walking up. She gives me a weird look and says, "WHAT were you doing in THERE?" It honestly could not have been more obvious what I was doing. I looked down at what I was holding for a long moment and then looked back up at her. She was still wearing this half-surprised sneer.

I looked her dead in the eye and said, "Installing our new toilet-cam."

I shouldn't be in retail.
