I used to have 30 running on average, now all of a sudden there are 45. Does anyone know how I can find out which ones are actually needed?

I only have the bare essentials running on startup. I turned off a lot through msconfig.

Thanks.

On processes in windows task manager are all the processes running on your pc.
Under 'User Name' are what's running the processes, you or your system
If you want to cut down the amount of processes running, end a couple of the programs your not using.
Only end it if it's running by you though as the ones under SYSTEM are required to help run the system.

Get Hijack this...it will show you the processes, you can copy and paste the logs and they will tell you what's garbage.

Apparently I have 65 processes going... Maybe that's why everything has been a bit slow lately.

How do I figure out what is good and what is bad? I just installed and ran the program Hijack this.

upload the generated report to HjT's forum and they will let you know what to get rid of.
