Some are saying now, it was an animal experiment gone wrong, probally a dog or something. Who knows though now that the body of the thing is gone.

Heard this on the news yesterday. Apparently Jeff Corwin (Animal Planet guy) thinks its some kind of raccoon.

Speculation immediately arose that it might be a hitherto unknown marine mammal, a sea turtle without its shell, an artful Photoshop creation or — cue the " X-Files" theme — an escaped experiment from the government animal-disease research facility on Plum Island, just offshore from Montauk.

This was my first thought before I read the story. I used to live out in the hamptons on long island and every so often stories would get out about that place. They do some damn strange testing and research out there. O.o

Yea, it probally is just a racoon or something. There is animal testing near by or something. Pretty disgusting still, can't belive that old buy picked it up to put it on his wall.

They said it was speculation where it went. Apparently a guy picked it up. I heard on the news that scientists got a hold of it and are currently testing to see what kind of animal it is.

Yea, i think it did happen a few weeks, but i didn't find out till yesterday and thought it was breaking news, hah. Their's been a lot of different stories about the situation though.
