Please do not judge by the topic title. I am genuinely curious as to the significance of these ummm, pets?

Now, I've seen a few posts here and there about this community and speculation as to what NEOCODEX is about but I'd really like to get it from the, "horses mouth" as it were.

O.k let's play a game, let's pretend that I'm dumb (wont be stretching the role too far) and can you guys answer a few questions for me??

1) What is NEOCODEX
2) what are neopets
3) what makes them tick and why are they so popular that there would be a forum dedicated to them
4) Why is everyone so friendly (are you guys constant pot smokers )

Anyway, help me to understand and maybe play, lol.......

*NEOCODEX is basically a community of gamers not just from neopets, but from other sites as well. We are dedicated to 'getting the most' from the games we play, preferably without scamming each other XD. We help each other out with progs, on-site contests, and other game-related (and non-related) questions and issues. We also have a trading post where users can trade their pets, accounts, items, etc for game currencies or other items/pets/whatever. It is actually one of many many forums dedicated to neopets; however, in my experience, it is the cleanest and most trust worthy of them all

*NEOPETS is a game site that combines pretty much every genre of online entertainment into an odd-yet-somehow-insanely-addictive mega-game. We have forums, trading boards, battles, role-playing, flash games, virtual shopping, selling, auctions, customizable neohomes, interactive/customizable pets, item galleries, art, guilds, writers, and the list goes on. It is weird and lame to many who happen to glance over it, but seriously: once you discover all the things you can do, you WILL BECOME OBSESSED! XD

Oh and we (at least I) do not smoke weed lmao. I'm just happy to help

Well, neopets is just like a virtual world.. a childish one, but not so childish at the same time 0_o... There's so many things on the site to keep a person entertained like battles, selling, buying, playing games, chatting, plots, look up customization and much much more. Once you get a hang of things, it's really hard to look away.

Some of us are... but most aren't. It's just a really friendly community.

A community to discuss and talk to people about interesting and non-interesting and pointless topics. Some programs to help people out at different sites, mostly neopets.
2) what are neopets
A virtual world with like people said, you can have pets, house, battle other pets, buy items from user shops and shops restock with items after a few minutes. Pretty simple, but alot of other things to take up hours of your time.

Idk, but it is one of the most popular things on the internet, so why not have a forum for it.

I would start by creating and establishing a legit account- Meaning an account which you don't cheat/use programs on. I'd wait AT LEAST several months before doing anything shady, and if/when you use cheats, do it gradually and discreetly. If you sign up and begin using 'tools' right off the bat, I can guarantee you'll be noticed and frozen. Also, once you are frozen, you will be more suceptible(sp?) to future freezing.
