Every time someone is slandering America, they act if their own nation does not have a history, does not have corrupt politicians or imperfections.

The American Dollar devaluation is excellent for our companies who export.
Countries are buying up all of our stuff because it's so "cheap".

I don't think that's the case. I think it's because Americans have much more pride in their country than others and take things more personally. People in England for example, generally couldn't give a shit. It's hard to feel the need to shout "I'm British!" in this country.

The great, more immediate problem is the survival of the entire world. If the world does not change, all its people will be threatened by greed, exploitation and violence of the power structure in the American empire. The handwriting is on the wall. The United States is jeopardizing its own existence and the existence of all humanity" - Huey P Newton

No one really does that here but the old WWII vets anyways xD It's mostly a stereotype because the people who actually do that are SOooooooooooooooooooo vocal about it.

And I've never shouted "I'M AMERICAN!!" here nor will I ever. I don't doubt that a great many rednecks down here would do that, though. They have their American and rebel flags every fucking where. >.<

Yeah I freaking hate those confederate flags :\ It so is not southern pride. It's something completely different.

Totally. It's annoying. And having to see it everywhere sucks so bad. . Because people BRAG about it and brag about being
racist and shit. My former manager had to listen to a redneck guy say something to the effect of "I wish we still bought and sold people like you." He just ... randomly told him that in the store. And he's not even totally black, he's mixed. I hate the south.

Ew, I hate that kind of stuff. I live in Northwest Florida, less than an hour from the 'Bama line and we have Confederate flags galore >_< Pretty much everything you see has the Confederate flag, and they have stores specializing in everything Confederate, such as T-Shirts, little flags for your car, window stickers, and hell, probably underwear.
Also tons of racists over here And like you said, people seem to be PROUD of being ignorant white trash. One time for Halloween my friend and I just put garbage bags all over ourselves and told people we were trash and only trying to fit in =P As bad as it is here, there's a town 'bout 30 minutes from here that up until about four years ago, they had a sign that said "If you ass is black, be out before the sun goes down" and then incorporated racist slurs into that, but I do not really remember what it said exactly.

It came out of more than just slavery and racism.

It came out of more than just slavery and racism.
But that is what the vast majority of people in my town recognize, and respect it for: slavery and racism.

Then you live in a dumbass town (no offence), and they really should teach better history in your schools o.o
I don't know a person in South Carolina who thinks that's what it means (Besides most non-native blacks o.o), and we started the Confederacy... so

Do not worry about offense, have I been putting forth much hometown pride thus far? I hate it here =P
And South Carolina is alot better than Florida/Alabama/Mississippi. In my COLLEGE American history class, guess what the most missed final exam question is? "Who won the Civil War?" The professor put it in as a joke a few years back and was startled to see how many people missed it, so he kept putting it on there From what I gather, the people in South Carolina are educated about their history, how they regard it and why. Down here and in the other Southern states I've been to, no one has any idea about the Confederacy, they just see the flag and think "SOUTHERN PRIDE!!1!!11!1" and think "omg dey faut 2 hav slayves so dat givs me teh rite too b racizt". Sadly, that is what most of the people down here actually sound like, just read back that sentence outloud for an idea of the local accent
South Carolina also has Colbert, just another reason they are superior.

I had no idea Stephen Colbert lived here
I also had no idea that it was like that in other states, seeing that I've only been to Georgia & North Carolina (As far as the southeast goes ). That's horrible.
And silly. Thank God they aren't the ones flying the Confederate flag on their state capitals
