So ye I was thinking a bit. How much value do you think your name gives to a first impression. For me it usually doesnt mean much, a names a name. I've met many people with lame or weird names that turned out to be likeable people. But I think it can give a little boost. From someone having some weird ass "how do you spell that? wacko.gif" name to a unique sexy name can sometimes make you remember them easier.

For me, I don't like my name. Its common, plain and boring. Its not special or anything. You know when people say "O I think you look like a (insert name), I dont think I match my name. I will sometimes get "really?" when I tell people my name. Doesnt bother me too much but makes you think eh, what if you could pick your own name like you did here. pirate1.png

Btw my names Joe. post-36-1102402759.gif
plain as rice

Don't think it really affects me. Never been particularly bothered by my own name and can't think of a time where I've thought anything of somebody for their name, if anything it just gives an impression of their parents.

I don't really care for my name. I just usually use my nickname, which is fine with me I suppose.

Well I guess I come under the weird ass category of names considering a hell of a lot of people don't know how to spell it, I never thought my name to be particuarly weird though. And the only time I've ever been 'wtf o-O' at a name was my Ex, who went around calling himself Teddy, even though his first name was Jason. *claps for him* Moron dry.gif.

Why DID he call himself Teddy? I presume there's a story there or something?

I've been introduced to quite a few people as either Kit or Kitty because it's what a lot of my older friends refer to me as. It always leads to people presuming my name is Katherine for a while. tongue.gif

I hate my name. It's not common, it's spelt stupidly, and it leads on to a shit load of old jokes everytime. I was going to change it, but the realistic hastle was too much.

His last name is Stead (yay for me telling random internet people his full name biggrin.gif) and across the years his gay Yorkshire friends went from calling him Stead, to Ted, to Teddy. The story is not in the least bit thrilling. I was just like '...oh' when he explained to me. I also thought he was called Cedric when he first introduced himself to me, I was quite disappointed really sad.gif.

You see that sooo isn't hot to me because the Carly I knew was like....this tiny little thing with really frizzy curly hair and like a baby face and little bunny teeth tongue.gif.

I think you only think a name is hot if you've seen someone with that name that is hot, then it's like...yeah, but Carly just strikes me as cute and little girly, because exactly what the Carly I knew was like tongue.gif.

Which is the same reason that I associate Carly with being bitchy and a bit chavvy. tongue.gif

Yeah my cousins name is Carly and she more of a tomboy. My name suites me ok, its very short though. Its Luc, the french spelling for Luke, and yes I get a lot of 'Luke I am your father' jokes, people asking me if I spelt it wrong and people asking me if its short for some other name.
