Alright, so design your own country -- we had this assignment in class and I thought it was pretty cool. I'm interested how the members of codex would make a country, if they had the God-like powers to do so.

1. Name
2. Does your country have a national language? Why?
3. What kind of government would your country have? (Democracy, Monarchy, Dictatorship or Communism)
4. What is the size and shape of the country? Would it have access to ports/harbors? How would the size and shape affect how it's governed?
5. What would be the natural boundaries of your country? How could they be important?
6. Is your country broken into states? How could this make governing your country easier or harder?
7. You can choose three natural resources. Which would you choose and why?
8. What kind of economy would you have? What will your currency be called?

Alright, so design your own country -- we had this assignment in class and I thought it was pretty cool. I'm interested how the members of codex would make a country, if they had the God-like powers to do so.

1. Name - Idealistan
2. Does your country have a national language? Why? English, Spanish, and Mandarin for economic and linguistically structural purposes.
3. What kind of government would your country have? Federal Republic with limited option for policy change (except on local and state levels) except by democratic vote if brought to issue by 4/5s of the congress. The congress' job would be to maintain.
4. What is the size and shape of the country? No preference. Hong Kong works well on nothing but rocks and they seem to do OK.
5. What would be the natural boundaries of your country? Possibly a river or something to flow through so the mainlanders are content living in middle Idealistan.
6. Is your country broken into states? How could this make governing your country easier or harder? It would be broken into states. Easier on the federal level.
7. You can choose three natural resources. Which would you choose and why? Running water, oil, and tits.
8. What kind of economy would you have? What will your currency be called? Negligent economy with options for easy entrepeneurship for the poor and slight difficulty when you reach a certain point. This would allow for small businesses to run for cheap and bring competition back. Past this point, I would implement a) a currency system which operates on silver and gold respectively, and b) A 6,000 dollar initial voucher which everyone starts off with that allows for people to do what they wish with the money at the age of eighteen. The money could not be accessed if you plan on giving it away as bribe money for a non-charitable cause.

1. Name Mystic Island
2. Does your country have a national language? Why? Ehhh..its English, cause thats what I speak...but if they want to invent a different one, I'm cool with that. The reason for the language is cause drawing on caves was SOOOO last century. lol
3. What kind of government would your country have? (Democracy, Monarchy, Dictatorship or Communism) I'm the boss and they listen to me. lol
4. What is the size and shape of the country? Would it have access to ports/harbors? How would the size and shape affect how it's governed? Hmm...I could turn this dirty, but I'll keep it clean for the kiddies...I'd say my island is square. People could get to it from all sides...we'd have lots of exports but because of my GREAT leadership skills, we hardly need any imports...
5. What would be the natural boundaries of your country? How could they be important? Water...well if our town idiot doesn't stay away from the boundries his ass will drown!!! ROFL
6. Is your country broken into states? How could this make governing your country easier or harder? Nah, we are all "one", it isn't a huge island...maybe only a couple hours in each direction.
7. You can choose three natural resources. Which would you choose and why? My town idiot wants to know what a natural resource is!!! lol
8. What kind of economy would you have? What will your currency be called? My island is "for the people"...so our economy is great...a few taxes here and there, but all in all, we are good to go. My currency...uhh...the reaper? lol..I like that.

So yeah, that is me in a hyper/silly/stupid mood...lol.

1. Adamland (in otherwords I can't think of a decent name)
2. English and Chinese - stealing Kitsune's idea tongue.gif
3. Wonder why Dictatorship and Communism are seperated o.0. Anyways Democratic Socialist
4. Like Australia but bigger, but only like 1/3 of it would be heavily populated - wouldn't want to spread outselves thin.
5. Water, help us isolate ourselves from the rest of the world until we reach a point where we can start up reforms in other countries (assuming this would play out like SimCity, limited money/power/population but you chose the geography)
6. Not to start out with as the way the population is distributed wouldn't warrant it, but later on once the whole island is properly settled, states would have to be formed to make things easier for the federal goverment.
7. Fresh water, trees and steel
8. Swedenish, except all industry is owned by the goverment. Lots of exports, skilled labour market, high taxes, free healthcare/education

The Republic of Tetieland is a rather small island a tad larger than Singapore of hard working, intelligent people with compulsary military service. However, the military service serves mostly as job training especially for engineers, doctors, nurses, and other high end jobs. Actual military service is rarely needed and is treated somewhat like going to a boarding school with physical training. Our national language is English, though several native tongues are accepted. My government is a Constitutional Monarchy with the royal family as a means of symbolism and pride for the country.

Naturally as it is a port town the economy does rather well, but there is a problem with illegal immigration. The country embraces its immigrants and puts them to work regardless of legality at the time. If they wish to be in a country which is so great, so be it. We are flattered that we are admired that much. Because of our acceptance of such immigration we are not bothered by people who simply work. All we do is run background checks on the people to ensure that our crime rate remains low. We can't have a bunch of drug lords coming into the country, now can we? Also our country is much, much too small to be broken up into states, however, we do have our districts which allow for the ease of citizens. For example, we have old Tetieland which is the heart and soul of our country and mainly an attraction to tourists. We also have our shopping districts which are also divided up into several different ethnic groups, but we encourage those groups to mingle amongst each other as much as possible to discourage ethnic battles. And of course our suburbs and rural areas where the majority of farming goes on.

We have several resources but our main "cash crops" are rice, electronics, and nurses. Our citizens are highly encouraged to be doctors and nurses especially if they wish to travel abroad. We have a nursing crisis all over the world so we send our wonderfully trained citizens to practically any country of their choosing. Since the nurses still usually have families from our country they sometimes send foreign money here which helps stimulate our economy. Our economy is generally quite good but like all other countries we have our problems. For example, we cannot keep up with our demand for rice because of the small land area so we cannot afford to export as much rice as we used to. Instead, we must feed our own growing population. We, however, have smoothly transitioned many workers into building electronics which is our main export.

1. Name - Carbonation =o
2. Does your country have a national language? Why? - English and Carbo
3. What kind of government would your country have? (Democracy) - Voting is probably still the best way to go, just that the people who get elected are smart individuals who don't special in politics, just so a douchebag wouldn't lead the countries.
4. What is the size and shape of the country? Would it have access to ports/harbors? How would the size and shape affect how it's governed? - The size of the British Empire before the World Wars. I suppose so, if the sun never sets on it, I would assume it has access to water. Five leaders, one assigned to 1/4 of the land.
5. What would be the natural boundaries of your country? How could they be important? - Ummmm =P Sort of obvious there.
6. Is your country broken into states? How could this make governing your country easier or harder? - In this case, I'm gonna go with my own country, Canada. I like having a small amount of provinces versus for example, America's 50 states =P Harder because the leaders would have to lead over a larger portion, but would also be the best rather than numerous ones.
7. You can choose three natural resources. Which would you choose and why? Water, lumber, oil. Water IS the most important resource obviously, we need it to live with. Pretty obvious, lumber is used everywhere. Oil more obviously once again because we need it to drive.
8. What kind of economy would you have? What will your currency be called? Global free trade. Of course, that would have to involve the rest of the world too. My currency would be known as Carb(s).
