Just got a Nikon D40 (my first even DSLR camera) and thought I would post some of my first shots.

Actually, just click this - http://flickr.com/photos/30756795@N07/

Those are really nice.
I was actually thinking about getting that camera too, how do you like it so far?

I definitely recommend it if you're a first time DSLR user. It's really nice. I actually bought mine used from Amazon for $410.

Alright good stuff.
I'm gonna order one soon because I'm going to Italy in April and want to be able to take some sweet pics tongue.gif
Plus my digital camera isn't cutting it for rollerblading and skating pictures anymore.

Hey what kind of dog is Bailey? A German Shephard? I'm getting a dog around December this year, and I would love to raise up one of those from a baby.

Now I know why you have so many posts! Thanks. =]

And Bailey is a Golden Retriever mix. Not really sure what else is in him, but we're pretty sure he has some husky in him.

Thank you hungry and Jenna.

It's a nice camera, though I probably would've waited and gotten the D60. The lack of a live preview really bothers me. I use a Canon 40D at the moment, it's a real nice beginners camera, just a bit pricey. Course it's loads better than the Powershot I was using.

Good photos though =]

Juju - Yeah, I've taken a few, but most of them are just mess around photos, messing with aperture, exposure and things like that. None good enough to post though.

T.E.I. - Yeah, I would've gotten the D60, but this is my first ever real DSLR camera so it's fine for me haha.

lock - Haha, thanks. He's actually 8 years old.

Ahhh, it's a he. Never have been able to tell the males and females apart, haha x:
The photos are pretty impressive for a first-time DSLR user!
I look forward to more photos (of Bailey, coughcough) from you in the future tongue.gif

They're typical shots, I guess.
Digital nature photography is very boring and amateur in most cases, so I'd suggest staying away from it.

These pictures look like they were taken in the automatic mode, with a typical set depth of field, etc.
That being said, try learning the manual mode. You'll find it difficult at first, but the rewards are greater in the end.
Make sure you're shooting in Camera RAW, so that the photos can be adjusted the best if need be.

Yeah, not sure what else to say other than keep going.

Yeah, I guess they are pretty typical. And yes, I was using the Auto mode, only because I just got the camera and was too impatient to learn how to use the other modes. I do use a lot of the Aperture and Shutter Speed modes now, though.
