So last week I bought a car with my father. Beautiful ting styll:

2000 Honda Civic, 229k KM, 5 Spd/Manual, 17" Chrome Rims, Sony XPlod Subs, In-dash touchscreen DVD player. A steal at $2,900. Had some busy days, eventually gave it to the mechanic to give it a tune-up, tests and new tings ya kna styll ye.

Today, the mechanic is finished with it. Promptly I get the car registered, plates, and even insured, enuf tings full two-way coverage ya kna? Take it back home, and I'm chilling. Ah my car is finally mine and I can safely drive it on the streets.

My friend jake contacts me, conversation goes as such:

QUOTE
[11/14/08 16:20:52 ] jake : not bad wanna chill?
[11/14/08 16:21:06 ] '☆ﮏﻳﺮﭼ★' its politriKKKs time again'♪ : if u run me road brains ill pick u up
[11/14/08 16:21:14 ] jake : ok

So I drive over to his house. I've finally somewhat mastered 5-speed transmission, I just need to work on releasing the clutch a bit slower, but I have yet to stall my car. I pick him up and he says we have to wait for his dealer to come, so I start driving to turn around, and I'm at a fairly dark 3-way all-way stop sign intersection with my signal on to go left. As I made my complete three-second stop, I notice his car approaching the stop sign. I assumed he would stop, so I continued in making my left.

I hear jake shout "WATCH OUT!" and the red ford taurus plows into jakes side, windows break, airbags pop out, I look over at Jake and everything's blue (blue light in my car) and dusty. "Are you okay Jake?" He look shook but he was fine. This guy completely T-Boned in my left turn. The chassis' completely shifted, non-repairable, the bar for the front-right tire's broke and won't turn, passenger door gone, windows broken, windshield gone. The damage on the side was hit with such tremendous force so great that it can only indicate this guy didn't brake for his stop sign. My first car was written off within the first half hour of being insured by some whiteboy who ignored a stop-sign.

At least when we went to the collision centre he had the decency to admit fault and I'll be getting cash reimbursement. But I waited two months for the right car, and fuck knows how long I'm gonna wait for the next one. At least I can move over my subs, rims, and dash.

Now for a shitty picture I took with my cellphone:

Discuss tingz

Update: Awesome, the insurance company is giving me $6,200 on a car I spent $2,900 on.

Well that sucks, I heard before where people get new cars and then for some reason they have some kind of accident. Not the first time I hear about this kinds of stories. Hopefully you can get a better car 1we8.gif or at least be able to fix this because that car was really cheap and a very good deal.

Holy .. wow, talk about shitty, that's terrible. I'm surprised you're not filled with RAGE right now and doing irrational things like beating people in the face. That's what I'd do.

Even if you don't see the stop sign you would at least try to avoid hitting the car turning across your path?

Sucks to hear that. Got into a car myself a couple weeks ago. Good thing you guys actually went to the collision centre together. Our accident it was maybe our fault but when my friend talked to the insurance company he said enough that it went 50-50 with the insurance companies.

In residential burbs late at night I always see kids running 100 at stop signs.

Probably best not to presume what drug-dealers are going to do. tongue.gif At least you had it insured though, it could have been worse.

Well like my dad always said, always assume the other people are idiots. Sadly in your case you got to see it first hand sad.gif I'm glad your friend's alright. You've definitely got to write a letter to the company for their supreme safety rating then. I mean if the car was that messed up and your friend was without a scratch? A blessing!

ouch.
My camry's been through a lot. One time it was parked sitting in a lot when some guy just backed into the left part of the bumper. Another time, my friend backed into the right part of my bumper lol. I also jammed into a pole once trying to park.

One time it just started smoking while I was driving, I made it all the way into a gas station when it imediately turned off and stopped working lol. Transmission died out of nowhere.

Has nothing to do with capitalism, I just bought the car at a dirt cheap deal. The appraisers also go by the book - they take the original value at the year it was sold, depreciation percentage to the power of how many years it's been on the market, and give a final price.

My wheels/chrome rims were also busted in the accident as well, so that was added.

And I gave the appraiser some money under the table. Seriously.

In the end, I win. Whiteboy who carelessly ran a stop sign putting mine and Jake's life in danger suffers at a heavy loss. That's what he gets for doing LSD, or for looking like he does anyway. Punk kid.

Anyway, now I'm lookin' at some Acuras, Honda Accords.. ionno, we'll see. My budget for this car is upto $5,200 - any tips on what I should look into (pref: Japanese, manual)?

Coming from someone who does drugs. I'd consider this lesson learned.
