Just something I thought of this morning while on facebook.
Perhaps it might be cool to have little statuses either on our profiles or below our usernames in posts (or both).

Thoughts?

Well in terms of online/offline, there already is one. When the little character to the left of the username of a person's post is colored, they're online. If it's black and white, they're offline.

As for the idea itself, well it doesn't seem terribly useful and would probably stop getting used a while after it was implemented (like many other things). However, I don't care either way if it's implemented or not.

Same reason we don't have user titles available.

We're too lazy to implement with the proper security measures.

Not really. A lot of things didn't get re-added during the last upgrade because the people who could do it where to lazy/busy*.

What idea exactly? Online/offline status already exists. And you haven't elaborated on what it is you mean by your suggestion.

He probably means things like idle or busy or whatever, like MSN has. That's what I understood by it anyway.

It's not a bad idea, it's certainly not necessary but no reason why we can't just have it just because...no one will ever get around to adding it though .

I don't think it's been there that long. Just since when the board was upgraded to invision power board 2.3.4 in February. Something similar might have been there before though, I don't remember.

Not all ideas that get rejected are bad, thats true. Some things just seem like fads. I recognized this after seeing so many things come and go. We're down to basics at the moment, but we're getting new members all the time. I'm impressed. Just need some programming talent again, and some other policies to change.

I support having statuses of what we're doing / our mood or whatever. Would be a good idea that just gets people a little more social .

Also, didn't notice the online/offline thing really. (How the little icon lights up / goes dark). I've seen it, but haven't thought about it.
