Went to see the Pyramids in the end....even though it was like an extra £180 each. It was worth it though !
Did I miss anything on Codex?
I'll post some pictures up later hopefully.

This is my wife Nicola....I think we were watching a show at the hotel when I got this photo of her.....
This is a photo of us near the Sphinx. I didn't have time to shave that day as we had to leave the hotel at 5am to get the plane to Cairo. Without at least sculpting my stubble then I look pretty scruffy .
Say hi to the Sphinx, which is incidentally not its real name . The Greeks renamed it during the time they occupied Egypt because they could not be bothered to remember it's real name....and it stuck.
Nicola again in front of the Sphinx with the second largest of the three great pyramids at Giza.....
This is an armed guard asleep on his camel .....
This is me messing around with shells and things. I have a thing for wildlife as well as history .
This is me impersonating François Auguste Ferdinand Mariette, a frenchman loved by the Egyptians because he cared enough about their history to build their first museum to keep all the archaeological finds safe. Artifacts were originally kept in old houses in Cairo but it became apparent that people were stealing them so he decided to ensure they were kept safe. Our guide told us that there are a lot of people in Egypt that are rich due to their ancestors stealing artifacts from the houses in which they were once stored and selling them off to the UK, USA etc. Most of the Egyptian artifacts seen in museums outside of Egypt are things that were stolen and sold off in the 19th century. So there is a bit of history for you .
Look how well I timed this photo .
Camera's were not allowed inside the museum so I don't have any pictures of Tutankhamun's exhibition which is a shame as it was pretty amazing. Oh, another bit of history for you....King Tuts belongings were all made out of gold as almost a way of insulting him. Gold was a very cheap material in Ancient Egyptian times. King Tut was a prettty useless Pharoah so they made everything out of gold...which is ironic now because we all think of gold as being very valuable. So King Tut is now probably the most famous of the Pharoahs because of his seemingly extravagant burial but in reality he did nothing significant for Egypt. If they had really loved him then they would have made everything out of Silver .
I'll see if there are any other pictures worth uploading tomorrow.
