I'm looking to buy me a new graphics card for my crappy Pentium 4 computer. It uses AGP 4x, and I'm thinking to buy something like this:
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814500066
It's a crappy computer so I don't expect to run anything brilliant on it but the computer has 1GB of RAM and a 1.8 Pentium 4 CPU.
Do you think this would be suitable for running a game like Age of Empires 3 at a decent speed or what? Let me know what you think :D

Minimum Requirements are: 1.4 GHz CPU 7; 256 MB RAM so your comp would run it, but not too well I imagine. I'd sooner build a new computer than spend any significant amount of money on it, but maybe this would be appropriate if you don't want to spend much but want to keep your computer usable: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814139165
EDIT: LOL, my bad, you posted pretty much the same thing.

Awesome! Yeah the computer is very old, but I need to upgrade it so it's somewhat tolerable. $30 is not a lot of money so I'm pretty cool about buying the graphics card. The computer I normally use is somewhat outdated but it can still blast through Age of Empires 3 at full settings. It's got an NVIDIA 7600 GT and I love it.

To me, this is the cheapest card that looks tolerable:

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814131173
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814102814 (Significantly better, but costs more)

For less money than that, its pretty much just Nvidia's FX series (worst graphics card series ever released) and Nvidia 6200's which are horrible.

Depending on where you live, you may want to try ebay'ing a card.

This card is nice, I owned one myself. It's also a VIVO version, which are able to flash to X850XT or X850 XT PE if you're an enthusiast. This will unlock more pixel pipelines, increasing performance.

From first look, they're $80+, making it probably too expensive.
