if you're interested on the total amount of neopoints required to be able to afford to train your neopet to level 250, 750 hit points, 500 str/def/agi . here's the calculations i made:

we'll assume your pet starts out with base stat of :
level: 1
str: 5
def: 5
agi: 5
hp: 10

average number of codestones req'd to raise a skill/level point:
Spoiler

i averaged all 10 codestones' prices according to the item database, which came out to be
=4902 np/codestone

verage 4.5 codestones per point for 2474 points gives 11133 codestones
at an average of 4902 np per codestone
=54.57 million neopoints.

*edit: if you don't train agi (since it's useless in battledome)*
Spoiler

well thats the total neopoints, just a rough calculation. it's the first time i've done this calculation, and it seems like a lot of neopoints...
any comments about the calculations would be nice.

I think you should calculate the time it takes to get there, I'd really be interested in knowing that.

Well, considering the majority of the people training don't touch Movement, you might want to make another set of calculations that don't include the costs of it.

Agreed. I also want to know the calculation of the hours spent in training.
I'm still trying to make my way through lvl 200. And I'm curious lol.

My calculations of cost were based on 5k per Codestone, so my prices should not differ too much from what you calculated.

i looked over your calculations, and they are probably more accurate than mine. i assumed the training brackets were all even (in terms of level), but they're not, unfortunately. for example, "Basic" bracket is level 21-40 , while "Master" bracket is 151-200. so my calculations underestimated the total number of codestones, which means i underpriced....
that's a lot of neopoints.

Nice job. I was always wondering how long and how much it would cost to get a decent battledome pet

Thats a little more than I expected, and I guess by little I mean a lot. Wow no one ever put it into perspective like that.

Guess neggs are the way to go.

Note that using the Lab Ray can alter this significantly, but it has its drawbacks too.

If you want to train Defense and Movement, or want to keep your pet the shape/color it is, you need to start training again, and chances are that your Strength and HP far outstrip your level, so there's added costs up the wazoo.

I never let my battledome pet touch the Lab Ray, it's too risky.

Do these calculations take the way the Auto Trainer works into account or does that make no difference?

The only difference the auto trainer would make is time.

Also, we must remember that Dubloon training can be cheaper at the beginning.

no i just checked the list of stat gaining neggs
power negg
silver knight negg
snegg
spiky negg
etc

most expensive , according to TP prices, was around 400K , cheapest was power negg at 185K
still expensive, but if youre rushed it sure beats the training school.

Whoaaaa. I never realised it would take THAT much. I still prefer the lab ray though, even if it's quite unreliable. XD
Nice of you to do the calculations for us.

no problem.
keep in mind though , the numbers are very very rough. codestone prices fluctuate constantly, and the amount of neopoints you spend can change dependng on whether you use the academy or training school. it gives a good ballpark number on how much you have to save for codestones, though.

Damn. That's a lot of neopoints to spend on a BD pet. Guess I'll just have to trade-up for one Posted Image
