I was just wondering, since this is my first year with the Daily Dare..

Is it worth it to buy like 2 of each of the AAA items and hold onto them? Will they ever come out again and do you think they'll raise in price?
I was going to go out and buy some, but I wasn't too sure. And yall know a hell of a lot more then I would. D:

Appreciate it guys! :D Thanks for helping a scrub out!

AAA prizes are not released again (except the polarchuck costume, but that was a glitch and should not be exploited).

Limited Edition wearables almost always go up in price. The question simply becomes "how fast."

If I were a prospector, I'd see which ones have gone up the most already and focus on those.

"What in tarnation are these limited edition wearables you speak of? Why, back in my day Neopets didn't have a stitch of clothing on 'em", says the old prospector.

p.s. So the AAA prizes are not released again, what about worthless Abigail's prizes? Obviously not worth as much as AAA's, but is the DD the only time those are released?

I remember the days of no clothing... back when Shop 4 was pretty useless.... awesome

And Abigail's prizes are released at the same rarity, so they won't be stocking in shops or Random Events any time soon either.

Abigail's prizes are just released in higher quantities so there will be more of them on the market.

Haha, when I came back to neopets I was like.. clothes.. really? They're kind of cute, but worthless. D:

I appreciate the help, I just wanted something to spend my neopoints on that was semi-productive! Maybe I'll hoard plushies or something.. :o

Even the books from last year have not inflated at all. There is no point in collecting because there won't be enough demand for you to both make a decent profit and sell off all the stock you bought. Save your money for HT items imo

If you're investing, invest in r101 neocash items like books or plushies or something like that.

I think retired petpets may be an okay investment

Too many people horde retired petpets.

Snicklebeasts get you an avatar but too many people have them horded so the price still stays low.
Snowbunnies - loads of people invest in them before going on a hiatus.

take other small buyable petpets like goblers - they arn't rising 'cause there is too many of them. i've horded thousands and they've never gone over 4-5k.

unless a petpet that's like 50k gets retired prices wont shoot up, imo

A general rule for hoarding mass annual freebies is that the items that are usable aka limited and declining quantity, but still usefull, will inflate over time, the more useful the item the faster and more expensive.
If I were to do it I would horde things like books, 1 time bdome weapons that are useful (those muffins that time).

Edit: Forgot, for this to be profitable you generally need to buy lots of the item, so say it just came out and its at 800np, if u buy say 100 of them, then in "time" they will go up to 4-5k or w.e.. then you made roughly 3-4k x 100 (for essentially doing nothing) and legit

Tbh theres not much profit in the DD prizes, i got all the AAA ones last year and a year later they might have raised like a couple of K. If you were looking for an investment Id probably go for something else...

I'm buying the AAA prizes cos I want them, not as investments. Some AAA prizes have gone up but as Georgina says, mostly no. It's all a matter of picking up on what's going to be worth hoarding.

Underwater Shipwreck Background is very expensive, probably a combination of the game that had to be played, and the lack of aquatic backgrounds for people with Marquean pets.

Anything hard to get is good, but by that I mean a AAA ultimate prize (which involves tonnes of skill or an SS)

Unless you have the patience to wait for like 10 years, I doubt they go up any time soon and since there are many players (and so, many AAA prizes awarded) they won't get extremely rare either!

Yeah the majority of the AAA prizes haven`t been very worthwhile of anything other than a collection.

Well it's probably best to hang on to it if you want profit. But I don't see any super rare item coming out of this. Like HT items that retired shoot up. At best maybe 100k years down.

Yah, it's not a bad idea. At the very least, reading them to your pet if they're dirt cheap, and continually hoarding them until they get up to a decent price, then selling a few, waiting, a few more, etc

Look into the books from other DD. They're all worthless just like advent calender books.
