Hello everyone,

As many of you saw, we had a major downtime which involved server overusage (CPU/RAM usage). This was caused by our items database using too much resources, so we have temporarily disabled any new updates to the database until we can relocate the scripts somewhere. The programs will still function, but the data will be slightly aged (which we anticipate won't reduce the performance drastically).

Because the subscribers handled the downtime so well, and we kind of screwed up managing our server's resources, we're extending everyone's subscription expiry dates by a week. :p (Changes have been applied.)

We'll be in the middle of moving some of our services to a second server in the next week or so, so stay tuned to updates.

Thanks SL man. Sounds very fair to the poor subscribers.

This.

The entire thing was handled fairly quickly, too. Props for that!

Wow. Thank you very much. :)
Just got back from work and I didn't find out it was down until now.

One minute it was down and the other minute it's back up! Keep up the diligent and vigilant work!

I must say any and all errors found here on the boards or in the programming have always been updated and fixed relatively quickly typically within 24hrs and for a free time board that doesn't really profit from anything and there is no fiscal gain to be seen (for the most part) that's really amazing to see that much dedication. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the update. :)

I was sad when Neocodex was down. I'm glad you were able to fix it.

Good luck on the move, I hope it goes well and results in better performance.

Doesn't it get tiresome, being wrong so often? :p

Whenever someone asks "What's wrong with Codex?".... I just reply "probably the item database."

Good to see I was right last night ^_^

Thanks for the quick return!

Better to be derivitive and right, than original and wrong :p
Unless, of course, you go on to be original and right :p

But, who is it that determines whether something is wrong or right, and would that not simply be their own opinion? (and possibly followed by others)

Not all opinions are equal.
