hey everyone, I'm Katie, and my avatar is a picture of a man using a sheet cake as a pillow because it represents my love of both food and sleep (I couldn't find one with a woman using a cake for a pillow, weird)
I live in hawaii, but I don't surf or anything like that. mostly I just stay inside and listen to music about surfing.
I'm currently working on my portfolio for art school. I hope to get into either calarts or RISD next fall, so while I'm letting the autobuyer run I'm usually either looking on flickr and at other artist's portfolios for inspiration or working on my own art. I'm a cactus hobbyist, so a lot of my work involves plants and flowers. I absolutely love to work with lines and use them abstractly in combination with more realistic elements. I also do a bit of photography, graphic design, and paper sculpting.
now I'm just rambling about art, so I'll shut up, but I just thought I'd introduce myself to the community I've been lurking so heavily for the past few days.
