If there's any anime worth crying at it's Grave of the Fireflies (Hotaru no Haka). I did tear up a bit though at the end of Cowboy Bebop and FMA.

In a nutshell:

Popular boy on the basketball team and smart-but-cute science nerd both try out for the school musical, defying stereotypes, etc.

Honestly, it's catchy but terribly lame.

Most of Gundam Wing (dubbed) can be found on youtube these days. I'm not certain about where to find a subtitled version. I'm sure it's torrented somewhere.
